The success of “Prometheus” has re-ignited the love for sci-fi in director Ridley Scott and he is all set to make another “Blade Runner” movie, which he insists is not going to be the sequel of the 1982 classic. The only connection the movie might have with the original version is Harrison Ford, who played the lead role in the first movie.
The new movie will be made under the banner of Alcon Entertainment, which had purchased the rights for all the prequels, sequels and other projects for the first “Blade Runner” in March 2010. The company insisted on Scott being the director of the film while Hampton Francher and David Peoples, who was also the co-writer of the original film, might be writing the new script.
Scott has been trying to rope in the 69 year old Harrison Ford for this new project, although it is not yet clear what role he will play in the movie. Meanwhile, there is no word from the actor’s side either confirming or denying whether he will be a part of the project. Either way, fans will eagerly await this latest cyberpunk adventure from the ace director.
