Johnny Depp is a busy man these days. The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide has been scheduled for release in 2011 and since the actor is re-praising the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie, it is going to keep him occupied. But his Hollywood commitments have failed to keep him away from his first love, Music. Quite recently he was in UK to shoot for the new promo for British band Babybird.
RadarOnline reported “A scruffy Johnny Depp was snapped in the UK on the set of a Babybird music video he is directing.”
“The video, which was shot over two days at Hatfield House, stars Babybird lead singer Stephen Jones and ‘Snatch’ actor Stephen Graham.”
Depp is a huge fan of the band ‘Babybird’, best known for their 1996 hit ‘You’re Gorgeous’
The 46 year old actor was sporting a beanie hat, heavy jacket and white-rimmed glasses.
If you know Depp only as an actor, then you would be surprised to know that he was into music much before he even considered acting as a career. In fact, he dropped out of high school to fulfil his long standing dream of becoming a rock musician. His first recorded solo album as a guitarist was with Oasis. He was also part of ‘P’, a group that also included Butthole Surfers singer, Gibby Haynes and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea. He also made an appearance in Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ music video “Into the Great Wide Open”.
Last year, he confessed he always wanted to sing a duet with Barry Manilow.
Talking about to his musical movie ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’, which also fetched him his first Golden Globe Award, Johnny said: “I don’t think I would have attempted this kind of project with anyone but a director like Tim Burton.”
“But if there’s a chance of doing a duet with Barry Manilow now, then I’m in!” He admitted.
If you are an ardent Johnny Depp fan, look forward to his another movie with Tim Burton in 2010. He will be seen playing Mad Hatter in upcoming ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathway and Allen Rickman.
