When Jennifer Garner signed the dotted line to join the Alias TV show as CIA agent Sydney Bristow, she could not have imagined that show working on the spy drama would someday help her to be an efficient mom. Now two daughters, Violet, 3 and Seraphina, 8 months, later the 37- year old actress is actually grateful for gruelling shooting schedule that left her with no time to sleep.
She said, “’Alias’ set me up in a good way for motherhood because I did run on no sleep for so long and I did push myself so hard. Everybody talked about how hard the sleep thing was with babies and I thought ‘Oh, this isn’t that bad! You’re sleeping some!’ But it’s never-ending. There’s never a weekend or there’s never a night, that’s what’s harsh.
“On ‘Alias’ at least I had to stay in shape for my job so it was just part of my day no matter what. Now finding that hour for myself is much harder to find. I have to do it before they’re awake.”
Another thing Garner is grateful for is her mom Patricia who helps her in bringing her daughters up. She is devoted to her kids and goes to great lengths to do her best for them, even if it means cleaning toilets. You got it right first times folks, gorgeous Garner is sweating it out “scrubbing the toilets” at Violet’s preschool.
Boston, Massachusetts co-operative preschool which Violet attends is also alma mater of her father Ben Affleck. Here parents are supposed to be actively involved in maintaining facilities and help in arranging field trips. The super mom is working alongside other dedicated parents while spouse Ben Affleck is busy in filming his latest flick, The Town.
She explains, “Parents run the school, so I work at the preschool. It’s a lot of toilet scrubbing… painting and pulling out staples. But it’s fun because you get to chat with other mums.”
The actress in Garner is waiting for Affleck to finish with his project so that she could return to sets once again while he scrubs his old school clean including toilets.
“We take turns. Right now he’s directing but just wait when it’s his turn… he’s going to have to make macaroni and cheese for every potluck (group dinner).” She added with glee.
