Mel Gibson is undoubtedly one of the most talented and popular actors of Hollywood. He not only does action roles with great confidence but also has the ability to perform dramatic as well as comic roles with equal ease. So here is just another reason for all Gibson fans to celebrate. Variety has reported that Gibson will be starring in a new action drama named How I Spent My Summer Vacation, next year.
And before you start rejoicing the announcement of yet another Gibson flick, there is some more good news. The screenplay of the movie has been written by Gibson himself, who had earlier written the screenplay for Apocalyptic and The Passion of the Christ. However, unlike the other two flicks, he will not be directing How I Spent My Summer Vacation. The news about this latest Gibson movie comes immediately after it was announced that he would be directing Leonardo DiCaprio in a Viking epic movie.
It has been revealed that the plot of How I Spent My Summer Vacation will revolve around a career criminal played by Gibson, who learns a new way of survival after meeting a 9 year old boy at a violent prison in Mexico. It is speculated that the other actors for the movie will be from amongst Gibson’s co-stars in Apocalypto. The film is supposed to be directed by Adrian Grunberg, who was the first assistant director in the Mayan epic. It has also been reported that the film will be produced by Stacy Perskie.
Gibson has reportedly visited Mexico for location hunting and it is speculated that the Ignacio Allende prison has been finalized for the shoot. The prison will reportedly be evacuated for the filming of the movie which is supposed to start sometime in March next year.
