Here some disappointing news for all the fans of the great comic actor Robin William. His proposed flick, Wedding Banned, has been canceled by Disney. Besides funnyman Robin, Wedding Banned was supposed to star Diane Keaton and Anna Faris among others.
Seemingly the decision was taken after Robin’s earlier movie Old Dogs, failed to attract the audience at the box office. Supposedly, Old Dogs was able to pull in just about $35 million in three weeks which prompted Disney to scrap Wedding Banned from its list of releases for 2011.
The plot of the romantic comedy revolved around a divorced couple played by Williams and Keaton, who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day so that they can prevent her from repeating the mistakes made by them. However, their efforts only end in making the long separated couple realize that they still have feelings for each other. The filming for the movie was supposed to start sometime in 2010.
Now that Disney has cancelled the project, it is possible that some other studio might be interested in it and hence there might still be chances of the project getting revived. So there is till some hope for the fans of Robin Williams, who were expecting to see his wonderful performance in another rib tickling comedy.
Although many people feel that Robin Williams is best suited for dramatic roles, people who have seen him do stand-up comedy know better. The bad performance of a couple of movies at the box office should not be reason enough to write him off as a bad comedian. The actor surely has got a knack for comedy and has worked in numerous hit comedies to prove the same time and again.
